Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrive in Havana

Welcome to Havana, home to sparkling Caribbean beaches, colorful streets, and dazzling culture. Settle in and get to know your group.

This tour requires a visa for U.S. citizens. Check entry requirements or call us with questions at 800-766-2645.

    Today's highlights:

    • Meet an EF representative at the airport and head to your accommodations.
    • Familiarize yourself with the sights and sounds of your neighborhood in Havana.
    • Get to know your fellow travelers before you explore Cuba together.
  • Day 2: Sightseeing tour of Havana + Welcome Dinner

Check out the house where Hemingway put pen to paper before an included lunch (who’s craving empanadas?!). Then, explore the heart of Old Havana with your guide.

    Today's highlights:

    • Learn about Cuban culture at the Santo angel community project.
    • Walk through the colorful and IG-ready Callejon de Hamel.
    • Admire the facades in Plaza Vieja and the cobblestones of San Francisco Square.
    • Enjoy a Welcome Dinner with your group at an authentic local spot.
  • Day 3: Explore Havana

In Havana, the arts are thriving—and today, so are you. Immerse yourself in Cuban culture as you bop around the city, then dive all the way in at an included dinner and a Buena Vista Social Club style performance.

    Today's highlights:

    • Visit a local park for a dominos lesson from a Cuban champion.
    • Meet local artists at Beatriz Santacana and La Vibora Community Graffiti Project.
    • Fuel up for an afternoon panoramic tour with an included lunch.
    • Hit up the bar at Hotel Nacional for the best mojito in Cuba. Hands down.
  • Day 4: Morning cigar tour + travel to Remedios via Santa Clara

Continue your tour of Cuba with a visit to Santa Clara, the city where Che Guevara celebrated his most important victory. Then it’s off to a hidden gem near the cost—Remedios—to explore via bike and grab a group dinner.

    Today's highlights:

    • Tour an iconic Cuban cigar factory and let the epic scent waft over you.
    • Get caught up on revolutionary history at the Che Guevara Mausoleum.
    • Grab an included lunch in Santa Clara, then visit the El Mejunje Project.
    • Tour Remedios by bicycle taxi aka bicitaxi and get the scoop on the famous Parrandas festival.
  • Day 5: Explore Caibarién and Remedios

Start the day with a visit to Caibarién, known as “La Villa Blanca” for its white-sand beaches. Have an included lunch and then head back to Remedios to see how you stack up against some local baseball players. FYI, they’re good.

    Today's highlights:

    • Visit the Marcelo Salado Sugar Mill Museum to get a look at a once-thriving industry.
    • Meet up with some Cuban baseball coaches, grab a bat, and see if you still got it.
    • Learn about Remedios’s annual fireworks festival at the Museo de la Parrandas.
    • Join your group for dinner in Remedios. Pro tip: if they have a Cuban sandwich, eat it.
  • Day 6: Travel to Trinidad via Sancti Spíritus

On your way to Trinidad, stop in Sancti Spíritus for a visit to the Romance Museum (and more). From there, it’s off to Trinidad—a frozen-in-time town that’s overflowing with culture, color, and energy.

    Today's highlights:

    • Follow a guide through historic Trinidad, including the UNESCO-recognized Spanish colonial zone.
    • Get stuffed during lunch at a paladar—a family run restaurant.
    • Put on your dancing shoes and master the salsa with help from local instructors.
    • End your day with dinner and a nightcap on the steps of la Casa de la Musica.
  • Day 7: Travel to Cienfuegos via Topes de Collantes

Onward to the southern coast, to Cienfuegos. Fun fact, the Historic Center of Cienfuegos was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005—thanks to its stunning neoclassical architecture. PS–Cienfuegos was first settled by pirates. Yikes.

    Today's highlights:

    • Stop in Topes de Collantes for a tour of the Casa Museo del Café coffee farm. Caffeine included.
    • Head to the water for a kayaking adventure off the coast of Cienfuegos.
    • Grab lunch and dinner with the group—rice, beans, repeat.
  • Day 8: Cienfuegos sightseeing + travel to the Bay of Pigs

After a tour of Cienfuegos with a local guide, it’s off to the Bay of Pigs. Spoiler: there are no pigs. But, you will learn about the failed U.S. invasion of 1961 and dive in to the bay itself to explore its incredible underwater ecosystem.

    Today's highlights:

    • Watch a performance by the Cienfuegos Choir as you walk the city.
    • Snorkel (or just float, whatever) around coral reefs and colorful marine life.
    • Get a fascinating history lesson from the Cuban perspective at the Bay of Pigs museum.
    • Receive a deep dive (ha) on the bay’s ecosystem.
  • Day 9: Head back to Havana + Farewell Dinner

Today, your tour finishes back where it started—in Havana. And this day is just *chefs kiss* quintessentially Cuban. We’re talkin’ art, vintage cars, and music, my friends.

    Today's highlights:

    • Pick up some local crafts and souvenirs at the San Jose Craft Market.
    • Ride through the Miramar neighborhood in a restored, 1950s, American classic car.
    • Stop at the soap workshop of Las Brujas.
    • Share some last laughs at an included farewell dinner with the group, complete with a performance from the Havana Queens Dance Company.
  • Day 10: Fly home

    Adios, amigos!
Before you head to the airport, make sure to take one more group photo and grab that final mojito. But remember, this isn’t goodbye—because you can always get the gang back together for another trip soon.

  • The Soul of Cuba

      Evelyn, traveled May 2024

Our recent EF tour to Cuba was nothing short of transformative. This is a place you go to make your heart bigger. The vibrant culture, rich history, and breathtaking landscapes were incredible, but it was the people of Cuba who truly were the soul of our journey. Their warmth, resilience, and joyfulness left an indelible mark on all of us. If you’re looking ... See more

Just got back from my trip to Cuba, and the main thing I have to say is to book your trip now! Everything was so well planned and fun that by the time the trip was over it felt like no time had passed at all. I learned so much about the country and culture that the US has kept us away from for decades. Please, if you need a sign that this is the trip to book... See more

If this trip isn’t on your wish list, add it! Cuba is full of art, history, and an almost indescribable culture that you must see for yourself. I really had no idea what to expect but I’m so glad I went on this trip to experience Cuba and an experience it was. • Just go

      Reagan, traveled Nov. 2023

There is not another trip that you can take that will be similar to this. Yes, bring some liquid iv (buy water every chance you get) and take toilet paper for when you’re not in the hotel, but you will be fine. EF will really take care of the rest and you will learn so much about their culture and way of life. The people are vibrant and kind and love to danc... See more
